- Eight Stages of Genocide
- Genocide is a process that develops in eight stages
that are
predictable but not inexorable. At each stage, preventive measures can
stop it. The later stages must be preceded by the earlier stages,
though earlier stages continue to operate throughout the process. This
page describes each stage.

They then publish those findings in dozens of books and reports every
year, generating extensive coverage in local and international media.
This publicity helps to embarrass abusive governments in the eyes of

- Amnesty International (AI) is a worldwide movement
of people who
campaign for internationally recognized human rights. Their mission is
to undertake research and action focused on preventing and ending grave
abuses of the rights to physical and mental integrity, freedom of
conscience and expression, and freedom from discrimination, within the
context of its work to promote all human rights.
- Center for the Prevention
of Genocide
- The Center for the Prevention of Genocide is a
nonprofit charity
that serves as one of the world's only early warning systems for
massive human rights violations. They monitor international hotspots
for indicators of genocide using on-line sources, as well as people and
organizations on the ground in those locations. Using these resources,
they compile evidence of genocide abuse and bring the information to
government organizations and the media. Some of their information is
