This is a project to help you design your future.  You are to use the Internet to explore a career of choice.

As part of this project, you will use technology to:

  • do research,
  • create a resume, and
  • prepare PowerPoint presentations.

  •  
Each student will present the information gathered on this project to his/her classmates on an assigned day.
 


INSTRUCTIONS
 

  • The project is mandatory.  Both assignments must be keyed neatly if you want  credit. There should be no errors.

  •  
  • Please spell check and proofread your final copies carefully for any errors.

  •  
  • You will prepare a PowerPoint presentation of no less than five minutes.

  •  
  •  You will be presenting your PowerPoint to the entire class.

EVALUATION GUIDELINES FOR THIS PROJECT





PERSONAL RESUME
This is your first contact with a future employer.  You need a flawless document in order to make a good first impression.  Remember it represents YOU.  The resume will be scored as follows:

Keyed neatly with zero errors   50 points

Keyed neatly with one to four errors 30 points

Keyed neatly with five or more errors 10 points
 

POWERPOINT
There are thirteen sections to this PowerPoint project.  Each section will be worth 10 points.  The PowerPoint project will be a total of 130 points (13 sections X 10 points each).

Each sections will be graded for content, bulleted information, errors, neatness.  Make sure your powerPoint slides are in order. The following scale will be used for each slide:
 

10 - 9  Excellent

  8   Above average

  7   Average

  6 - 0  Below average


 

ORAL PRESENTATION
After you have presented to the class, your classmates will have had a chance to share in your gathered knowledge.  Your interest may become their interest.  Plan to present with enthusiasm.  This should be the case even if in your search you have decided this is not the career for you.  The oral presentation is worth a total of 100 points.

You will be graded on the following:
 

  • Content  70

  •  
  • Eye Contact 10

  •  
  • Volume  10

  •  
  • Mannerisms  10
