At Chico High School



Basic information about the Information Retrieval Skill Assessment given at Chico High School is available below. Please use it for practice before you come to take the actual test.
 
 

Here below is the test form that you will be given. It will have three topics listed. You will need to find each topic twice, as follows:

  • Once on a CD-ROM or Web-based commercial information resource (Infotrac/Reference, SIRS Knowledge Source, Encyclopedia Americana, or Grolier's Multimedia Encyclopedia, etc.)
  • Once again anywhere on the Web/Internet.


Please note:

The information resources that you locate must be of a decent enough quality that you would be able to use it as a reference in a class report or presentation. A page with a list of links to other places is not acceptable. Also unacceptable are Web pages created as corporate public relations announcements.
