The Global Stock Game (GSG)
This is the one-stop place where you can trade stocks with virtual ("pretend") money. The Global Stock Game (GSG) is the world's most realistic stock market simulation, where you can have fun and learn the stock market. See also: Alternative Stock Market Games.

 
1996-2001 Economic Reports of the President
The Economic Report of the President includes access to many statistical tables for prices, income, employment, etc., plus current and foreseeable trends and annual numerical goals on topics such as employment, unemployment, production, real income and the labor force.
Consumer Reports Online
Unbiased reports and information about products and services, prepared by the Consumers' Union. "You'll find Consumer Reports advice, ratings and recommendations, based on [their] independent testing of consumer products and services. You'll find no advertising on this site."
The Better Business Bureau
"The Better Business Bureau provides instant access to business and consumer alerts as well as helpful resources. Plus, you can file a complaint online and more." Includes the latest consumer warnings and other news from the BBB, consumer buying guides and business publications, and related information.
Essential Principles of Economics: A Hypermedia Text

A central gateway to locate information about stocks, stock markets, investing, taxes, insurance, and many other topics related to finance. Nicely organized into practical sections for easy browsing. Search for stock price quotes too! Use the Symbol Lookup to start your search for a company; then see the reports, charts and data that are available.
Holt Stock Reports
An extremely useful and comprehensive daily summary of data related to stock exchanges, as well as other useful economic data. Links also to graphs and other data related to stock analysis.
The New York Stock Exchange
A major place where stock is traded, in New York City.
NASDAQ: The Stock Market
One of the major trading centers for stocks. Find out infortmation about the stocks that are traded here. Includes prices, graphs and charts of stock activity, plus other vital stock market data.
Hoover's Online
A place to find out information about companies (stocks, reports, industry snapshots, and much, much more.)
Stock Quotes From CNN/SI
Obtain the latest stock quotes just 20 minutes after the latest transaction on the stock market, a link available on this site.
EDGAR Database
The Securities and Exchange Commission, which regulates public companies, provides this site to allow the public access to information on companies.

This online "calculator" will allow you to calculate how much salary you would need in order to equal that of another city. (i.e., If you make $20,000 in Chico, how much of a salary would it take to have the same standard of living if you moved to Seattle?)

The City of Chico General Plan
The Annual Plan of the Consolidated Plan includes the proposed budget for the available CDBG and HOME funds (previously called the Final Statement ), the Federal Application for Assistance and a discussion of actions the City will undertake during the Program Year regarding homelessness and anti-poverty. The Annual Plan is submitted for each program year.
EPA: Search Your Watershed and EPA: Chico Area Watershed Indicators
Watersheds are important because activities within them affect water quality. Watersheds are those land areas bounded by ridge lines that catch rain and snow, and drain to specific marshes, streams, rivers, lakes, or to groundwater. The Index organizes and presents aquatic resource information on a watershed basis. Find companies that dispose of toxic waste in Chico and nationally from these links.
County and City Data Books
This resource provides WWW access to the electronic versions of the 1988, 1994 and 2000 County and City Data Books. You will need to check some boxes to get the data for Chico. First specify data desired, and ask for only California data, and submit. Then specify data for Chico only.

Urban growth boundaries are regulatory tools, designated for long periods of time - 20 or more years. In order to provide greater certainty for both development and conservation goals they are rarely subject to revision and can be made permanent over time.
